Description
Join us as we celebrate the Grand Opening of Mission United Okeechobee at Our Village. This important new resource will strengthen support for active military members, veterans, and their families right here in our community.
The morning will begin with an informational session at 10:30 AM, providing attendees with an overview of Mission United’s services, followed by a Chamber-style Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at 11:15 AM.
MISSION UNITED™ is a United Way initiative that streamlines access to veteran services through the established 211 Information and Referral system. By serving as a single point of entry, Mission United helps veterans and military families navigate often complex and fragmented systems to access housing support, healthcare, employment resources, and more.
Trained United Way 211 Community Resource Specialists assess individual needs and connect callers to local resources, while Veteran Care Coordinators provide peer support, advocacy, and hands-on coordination with community partners.
MISSION UNITED™ proudly serves active military members, veterans, and their families in Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties, with sponsorship support from the Military Officers Association of America, the Captiva Island Crab Races, The Place on First, and the Far-Mar Fund of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.
